How to Clean an E Cig

How to Clean an E Cig

Frequent use of your vape device can lead to a build-up of grime, dirt and residue, which can affect the quality of your vaping experience. That’s why it’s important to clean your e-cigarette regularly.

It doesn’t take long to do and it will ensure you get maximum flavour on every hit. Not only that, it will make your device last longer too.

In this guide we’ve outlined what equipment you need to clean your device and included a step-by-step guide on how to clean your e-cig.

What do you need to clean your e-cig?

To clean your e-cig, you’ll need a few fresh paper towels to help wipe away any residue build-up. Cotton buds may also come in handy for getting into smaller, hard-to-reach spaces.

How to clean your e-cig

Exactly how you clean your e-cigarette will depend on the type of device you have and always refer to your user manual first, but here’s the general process:

1. Prepare your area

Start with a clean surface and lay down a few paper towels in case of leakage.

2. Disassemble your e-cig

Remove the atomiser as well as the drip tip, atomiser cone and drip guard, if your device has these components.

Using a folded paper towel, wipe down every component. Blow very lightly through the drip tip to clear out any old e-liquid, using the paper towel to catch any residue. It may also help to use a cotton bud to clean areas that are harder to reach, like inside your battery terminal and atomiser cone.

3. Clean the mouthpiece

Use a cotton bud to wipe away any grime that has built up on your mouthpiece, including on the inside. Depending on the material, you may also be able to soak the mouthpiece in warm water, but refer to your user manual first.

4.Charge the battery

Plug your battery into the charger and leave it there until it is fully charged. When it’s ready, reassemble your e-cig, and you’re ready to continue vaping.

When to clean your vape device

  • Clean it every time you change your e-liquid

Cleaning your device every time you change the cartridge or add more e-liquid will help to prevent the build-up of gunk and grime.

  • Clean it as soon as the smoke starts to taste bad

If you start to get a bad aftertaste, it could be that the cartridge is dry, but more often than not it’s because of a build-up of gunk.

  • Check for any built-up residue

If you can see residue starting to build up in any part of your device, disassemble it and give it a thorough check and clean.
